A Few Things I have Learned So Far
Well, I'm happy to report that after two and a half months of marriage Chris and I are not only surviving but thriving :) Everyday leads to a new adventure, and boy, is marriage an amazing adventure :) But marriage, even a wonderful one like ours, isn't without... compromise. I have learned, very quickly, that living with a boy is an extremely different experience than any other I have had.
This is what I have learned...
If left alone, Chris will try to feed himself... and this process is hilarious and dangerous.
Even though you may fall asleep together and fully clothed, you may wake up at 3 am to find
your husband asleep on the couch...completely naked
If you don't subscribe to The Cox Cable Company they will send you ads, coupons, and spam everyday until you give in to the dark side and buy cable or Internet. (I am being completely serious, every-single-day)
If you occasionally... leave a light or two on in the house... Chris will blow a gasket.
Chris is to never touch laundry again. I don't know if it was his plan all along to be exiled from the laundry room early in our marriage, but if it was he is an evil genius.
Even if you're nice and accommodating to your down stairs neighbors they will still smoke weed and rap until the wee hours of the morning, and then get confused when the cops get called on them.... Really? They can't figure out why no one likes them?
TOILET SEATS ARE TO REMAIN IN THE DOWN POSITION AT ALL TIMES AFTER BEING USED. THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER DISCUSSION ON THE MATTER.
Last and the most surprising thing I have learned is that somehow at some point... I have fallen even more deeply in love with my husband. I love him so much more than I did when we were dating or when we were engaged. He is the most caring, supportive, protective, and well intentioned man and I am so honored to be able to call him my husband. The depth of his love for God is only matched by his selflessness in which he serves our God. Chris eases my mind and calms my soul. I am so lucky I have him. I love him, I love him, I love him.
